We begin our journey in Aswan, where you’ll board your Lake Nasser cruise ship and settle into your comfortable cabin. After lunch on board, we set out to explore Kalabsha Temple, dedicated to the Nubian god Mandulis. Relocated stone by stone after the creation of the High Dam, it now stands proudly on the lake’s western bank. Nearby, we’ll also visit the temples of Beit El Wali and the Kiosk of Kertassi, small but rich in artistic detail. Dinner is served on board, followed by a peaceful overnight stay on the lake.
Enjoy breakfast as we cruise south to Wadi El Seboua. Along the way, admire the wild and dramatic scenery—a contrast to the fertile Nile Valley. On arrival, we’ll visit the Temple of Wadi El Seboua, built by Ramses II, where sphinx-lined avenues lead to beautifully preserved reliefs. Also included are the smaller but equally impressive temples of Dakka and Maharraqa. After exploring, return to the ship for lunch and continue sailing to Amada. Dinner and overnight on board.
Today, we visit the Amada Temple—the oldest of Lake Nasser’s monuments. Its vivid wall paintings, protected from erosion by early relocation, are among the best-preserved in Egypt. We’ll also explore the Temple of Derr and the Tomb of Pennut at Aniba, offering deeper insight into the everyday lives of ancient administrators. Return to the boat for lunch as we sail toward Abu Simbel. The afternoon is spent relaxing on deck, taking in the desert silence. Dinner and overnight on board, docked near Abu Simbel.
We end our cruise with the majestic temples of Abu Simbel—colossal, awe-inspiring, and utterly unforgettable. Built by Ramses II and his beloved queen Nefertari, these twin temples are masterpieces of ancient engineering and devotion. Carved directly into the rock and relocated during the 1960s to save them from flooding, they remain one of the greatest feats of archaeological preservation. After a guided tour and some free time for photography, we return to the ship for a final brunch. Disembarkation follows, and we bid farewell, hearts full and cameras full.
